The ground works project for the Steel Park Facilities developed for Kroman Çelik Sanayii A.Ş. within the Dilovası Gebze Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (MOSB) was completed by DEA YAPI, covering excavation, fill, infrastructure, shotcrete, gabion walls, and geocell cladding works across approximately 200,000 m² of land. The project was structured as a comprehensive geotechnical engineering operation forming the foundation of a large-scale industrial facility.
The success of ground works on an industrial site of this scale is decisive for the building’s sustainable performance throughout its lifespan. Excavation and fill operations were carried out through volumetric planning and soil compaction calculations, while drainage, stormwater discharge, and fire protection lines were systematically laid as part of the infrastructure works. Shotcrete application was executed with technical precision to stabilize open slope surfaces and control erosion, while gabion walls were implemented as retaining solutions combining aesthetic and engineering performance. Geocell cladding, a modern geotechnical solution enhancing ground bearing capacity, was used in critical areas of the site, contributing to long-term ground stability.
MOSB is one of Turkey’s most developed machinery-specialized industrial zones and stands as a strategic production corridor for the heavy industry, metal processing, and steel production sectors. Its proximity to the TEM highway and Gebze port enhances the logistics efficiency of investments made in the region.
DEA YAPI has applied the experience it has gained in large-scale industrial site engineering projects to this project with engineering accuracy, technical discipline, and quality assurance.
