The ground development project for the Profile Processing Center Facility, developed for Kroman Çelik Sanayii A.Ş. within the Dilovası Gebze Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (MOSB), was completed by DEA YAPI, covering excavation, fill, soil compaction through dynamic compaction, infrastructure, reinforced earth walls, and retaining wall works across approximately 17,000 m² of land. The project was structured as a geotechnical preparation process requiring high engineering discipline prior to the superstructure of a heavy metal processing facility.
Profile processing centers are industrial facilities that impose high static and dynamic loads on the ground due to heavy raw material handling, pressing, and cutting operations. Accordingly, the dynamic compaction method was applied during the ground improvement process to systematically increase the ground bearing capacity, thereby creating a sub-foundation capable of safely responding to superstructure loads over the long term. Excavation and fill operations were carried out through volumetric planning and soil compaction calculations, while drainage, stormwater discharge, and fire protection lines were systematically completed as part of the infrastructure works. Reinforced earth walls and retaining walls were constructed in accordance with engineering calculations to safely manage site grade differences and control lateral pressure.
